As we at BlackBook are competing in the 12 Days of Giving charity drive in competition with various NYC media companies to benefit the New York Food Bank, and as we are apparently forbidden from outright bribing donations out of our readership, we have devised a more traditional and ludicrous method to solicit and elicit your donations to meet and exceed our $5,000 goal.

Presently, on the leaderboard, we are looking up the tailpipe of Flavorpill and a good distance behind Curbed in terms of total donations thus far. This is obviously intolerable so to save us the humiliation of defeat we are proposing more overt humiliation in aid of this good cause. So:

For every donation that takes us across a thousand-dollar threshhold — that is, the $1,000 mark, as well as the $2,000, $3,000, and $4,000 mark — BlackBook spirits editor Victor Ozols will devise a cocktail in your honor, and we will post a video of the staff toasting you with said cocktail, by the name or affiliation of your choice. You can join us for this if you like!

For whatever donation takes us across the magical $5,000 threshhold, you will not only get the cocktail and toast, but BlackBook assistant editor and Broadway savant Bonnie Gleicher will devise a song in your honor, which we will also perform on video. You can join us for this if you like too, or perhaps not, as it could end up being a tragedy and comedy both.
